Daughter Cornelia VINGOE  died in  infancy, suffocated  by her mother rolling on her'  [Inquest c1880 "THE  TIMES"]
 Charles VINGOE was a travelling salesman selling silks and trimmings. He then set up in business with three others as a   wholesale merchant but went bankrupt when one of his partners died leaving debts he was liable for.
On 1901Census  he is age 50,  living in Caterham & ‘Trimming Merchant’ with wife Jane age 46
Charles’ nephew, Frederick Charles VINGOE [1873], worked with him for a while and on the 1901 census  he is listed as “Commercial Traveller in Silks”
