John Vingoe , b.1695 married at Sennen on the 9th of January 1729 as John Vingoe JNR. to Margaret Reed. This couple had a son William baptised on the 18th of May 1730 in Sennen, as well as a daughter Margaret, baptised on the 6th of January 1732 at Sennen.

This Vingoe branch lived from around 1730 in Paul Parish and owned property in Paul Churchtown in the area known as Vingoe Lane. According to his will of 1760 John also owned property at Raginnis in Mousehole as well as a half share in a fishing boat named "Lynack".

Descendants of John's sister Margaret, who married a Willis, are found marrying back into the Vingoe family in Newlyn in 1880. The family at Paul were closely connected to the Hutchins family of St. Buryan, as were many branches of the Vingoe line. Martyn Hutchens` will of 1747 names a " William Vingoe of Treville" and a later Hutchens leaves his half share of the St.Peter's Seine in Newlyn to William Vingoe of Paul.

Joan Dennis c1832 was a daughter of Peter Dennis [170 -1763] & Joan [Tremewan] 1703-1766 of St Buryan. I have not been able to find the record of Joan's marriage to William Vingoe, but their three daughter were baptised in Sennen: Mary 1754 - Margaret 1756 - Grace 1758. Luckily, the will of her mother, Joan Dennis [1703] confirms her daughter as the wife of William Vingoe, and mother of his children. In her will of 27 June 1766 Joan DENNIS left legacies to her daughter, Joan VINGOE, and her 3 granddaughters: Mary, Margaret & Grace VINGOE.

The Sennen record has a note at the baptism of William's daughter, Mary, that her mother Jane was William's second wife, and she was baptised at the same time as their daughter. This is odd as she was baptised in St Buryan. along with her sister Grace. Joan Tremewan was a direct descendent, if only in the illegitimate line, of the ancient Levelis family of Trieffe Manor, Lamorna. She is believed to be in the story of ''Madame Noy and old Joan'' as told by Robert Hunt in his "Drolls, Traditions ad Superstitions of Old Cornwall"

Will of Joan Dennis of St Buryan: 27 June 1766

In the name of God Amen I Jone Dennis of the Parish of St. Buryan in the County of Cornwall, Widow Being of Sound Memory and understanding, Blessed be God, do make & Ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner following.
That is to Say I commit my Soul to the Almighty God, my Body to the Earth to be Deasently Buryed, as my Executors hereafter named shall think proper.

Impr.
I Give and Bequeath to Mary Vingoe my Granddaughter, the Sume of Thirty Pounds, part of a Legacy given & Bequeathed me As a Legacy given me by my Brother Thomas Tremewan, deceased And payable by my Executors when She shall attain the Age of Twenty One Years. She dying before that Age then to her other Sisters Share and Share alike when attaining ye Age of Twenty One Years.

Item.
I Give and Bequeath to Jone Vingoe, my Daughter, the sume of ten pounds lawfull money of Great Britain Twelve Months after my Decease and payable by my Executors and to be payers coequal. And in case my Daughter Jone Dying within Twelve Months after my Decease, the said ten pounds to be Divided between her children share & share alike.

I Give and Bequeath to her Daughters, That is Margaret and Grace Vingoe, the Sume of Twenty Pounds to be equally divided between them when she or thay shall attain the Age of Twenty One Years One after the other and, in case she or they Dying before that Age, then to the other Children share &, share alike.

I do hereby Nominate, Ordain, Constitute and Appoint my Daughters Mary and Grace Dennis my Whole and Sole Executors, their Executors, Adms. or Assigns, of all and unto all other my Effects by me given and bequeathed, be them of what nature kindsoever or wheresoever.

Cottage at Penberth Cove

On 1841 Census Nicholas Hutchens and Loveday are shown as living on the Buryan side of Penberth Cove. He is shown as being aged 40 and a Fisherman. There daughter Mary [Marianne] is with them aged 15.

On the 1861 they are still living in the Cove but are show as being paupers.
